TIRANA (Albania), April 17 (SeeNews) – The European Central Bank (ECB) said on Thursday it will help the Bank of Albania (BoA), the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBRK) and the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia (NBRM) to prepare them for joining the European System of Central Banks (ESCB).
The ECB signed on Thursday a six-month cooperation programme with the three banks in Tirana, ECB said in a notice on its website.
Under the programme, the ECB will conduct an analysis of BoA and CBRK to determine which areas could be improved to meet EU central banking standards.
NBRM already went through an assessment programme in 2012-2013.
