SOFIA (Bulgaria), October 4 (SeeNews) – The European Commission (EC) said on Wednesday it has asked Bulgaria and Romania to fully transpose the directive on the deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure.
The main purpose of the directive is to establish a common framework for the large-scale roll-out of alternative fuels infrastructure in Europe, the Commission said in a statement.
EU legislation sets out minimum requirements for the building-up of alternative fuels infrastructure, including recharging points for electric vehicles and refuelling points for natural gas and hydrogen.
The deadline for transposing the directive was November 18, 2016.
The two countries now have two months to notify the Commission of measures taken to bring national legislation in line with EU law or they might be referred to Court of Justice of the EU.
