September 28 (SeeNews) - The European Commission (EC) will launch a procedure for approving imports of poultry from Serbia in the next two weeks, Serbian agriculture minister Branislav Nedimovic said on Tuesday.
"In two weeks, Serbian poultry imports will enter an approval procedure in the EU. When it comes to pork, we will have another inspection in February, but we have finished our job," Nedimovic said in a video file posted on the website of Tanjug news agency.

Serbia currently exports poultry only to Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia and Montenegro, Tanjug reported.
In January, the director of Serbia's Veterinary Administration, Emina Milakara, said the EU Commission launched a salmonella monitoring at Serbian farms and the government expects to receive a permit to export poultry to the EU by the end of 2021.
