December 8 (SeeNews) - The European Commission (EC) has approved the disbursement of 14.9 billion euro ($15.6 billion) between 2023-2027 to support Romania's agricultural sector.
The disbursement is part of the EC's Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) strategic plans for the country, it said in a press release on Wednesday.

The funding will go towards improving the livelihoods and the competitiveness of Romanian farmers, while also creating more than 12,000 jobs in the country's rural areas, with funding for businesses and infrastructure.
Additionally, some 1.1 billion euro will be allocated to investments in farms and processing units, the release further showed.
The European Commission's CAP was designed to shape the transition to a sustainable, resilient and modern European agricultural sector. The CAP will benefit from funds totaling 270 billion euro between 2023 and 2027.
