June 9 (SeeNews) - The EU Commission has approved a 150 million euro ($161 million) Slovenian scheme to support the rollout of renewable energy and heat as well as energy storage under EU State aid rules, it said on Friday.
The scheme includes direct grants, up to 25 million euro per beneficiary, to accelerate the deployment of investments in renewable energy production and energy storage, with the aim to foster the transition to a net-zero economy, the EU Commission said in a statement.

The aid will be granted on the basis of a scheme with an estimated capacity volume and budget no later than December 31, 2025, EC said.
The scheme was approved under the State aid Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework, adopted by the Commission in March 2023 to support measures in sectors which are key to accelerate the green transition and reduce fuel dependencies.
