January 24 (SeeNews) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has agreed to provide a 8 million euro ($9.1 million) loan to Bosnia's Tuzla canton for the implementation of projects aimed at improving energy efficiency of about 200 public buildings, the cantonal government said.
The loan has an interest rate of 1% and a term of 15 years, including a three-year grace period, the government of Tuzla canton said in a statement on Friday.
Grant funding of 4 million euro is expected to be provided for the implementation of the projects and technical support, including 1.5 million euro in grants from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Tuzla canton is located in the Federation, one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other entity is the Serb Republic.
