SKOPJE (Macedonia), December 14 (SeeNews) – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said it is inviting expressions of interest for a contract for consultancy works related to two railway infrastructure projects in Macedonia.
“The consultant will monitor tender evaluation and contract award, the performance of the clients and their consultants, implementation of the contracts on behalf of the Bank, mitigation measures included in the Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP) and any other areas of interest for the Bank,” the EBRD said in a statement on Wednesday.
The consultant will also identify any key problems which may threaten the successful implementation of the project so that corrective action can be taken, the statement reads.
The assignment is expected to start in the first quarter of 2018 and has an estimated overall duration of four years.
The two projects, which will be monitored, envisage the rehabilitation of a total of 30.8 km of Railway Corridor VIII in the east of Macedonia.
The EBRD has so far extended two sovereign loans to Macedonia - of 46.4 million euro ($54.9 million) and 145 million euro, respectively, for the two projects.
