February 14 (SeeNews) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is ready to support wastewater treatment and environmental protection projects in Montenegro's Budva, the Budva city government said on Monday.
The EBRD is also interested in plans related to coastal landscaping and the construction of public garages to solve the problem with the lack of parking space during the tourist season, the Budva city government quoted Remon Zakaria, head of the EBRD Office in Montenegro, as saying.
Any arrangement between Budva and EBRD would involve the provision of loans at the most favourable terms, Budva mayor Marko Carevic said during a meeting with Zakaria.
The EBRD appointed Zakaria as country head for Montenegro in November 2021. Zakaria succeeded Jaap Sprey, who joined the European Commission in Brussels.
