September 9 (SeeNews) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Monday it is considering lending up to $75 million (57 million euro) to Turkey's Asyaport Liman to fund a deep sea container terminal project.
The senior EBRD loan will finance the construction and operation of a deep sea container terminal in the town of Barbaros, in the northwestern Turkish province of Tekirdag. The total cost of the project is $413 million, the EBRD said in a statement.
Asyaport is controlled by Global Terminal Ltd which is owned by terminal operator Terminal Investment Ltd SA. Terminal Investment is a unit of the Swiss-based Mediterranean Shipping Company.
