August 7 (SeeNews) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said it considers providing a $135 million (102 million euro) senior secured loan to Turkey's Seymenoba Elektrik Uretimi for its 230 megawatt combined cycle cogeneration power project.
Seymenoba Elektrik Uretimi, wholly-owned by AES Entek Elektrik Uretimi, will develop the $385 million natural gas-fired power plant near the refinery of oil refiner Tupras [BIST:TUPRS] in central Turkey's province of Kirikkale, EBRD said in a statement on Tuesday.
The rest of the funding required for the project is expected to be provided by commercial banks and the shareholder's equity or shareholder loans, EBRD added.
AES Entek Elektrik Uretimi is a joint venture between affiliates of U.S.-based AES Corp and Turkey's Koc Holding [BIST:KCHOL].
