September 27 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's economy is expected to grow by 1.5% in 2023, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Wednesday, affirming its May forecast.
In 2024, Slovenia's GDP is expected to grow by 2.3%, EBRD said in the September issue of its Regional Economic Prospects report.
"GDP growth of 1.5% is forecast in 2023, with significant downside risks, and 2.3% growth is expected in 2024. On the upside, investment will likely accelerate as reconstruction starts and EU funds are disbursed," EBRD said.
Slovenia's GDP grew by 1.1% in the first half of 2023, after expanding by 2.5% in 2022.
Earlier this month, the Slovenian government's Institute of Macroeconomic Analysis and Development, UMAR, cut its 2023 economic growth forecast to 1.6% from 1.8% projected in the spring, but revised up its 2024 forecast to 2.8% from 2.5%.
