September 27 (SeeNews) - Kosovo’s economy is seen growing by 3.5% in 2023 and by 4% in 2024, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Wednesday, affirming its previous projection made in May.
The stable prospect is chiefly attributed to a combination of strong service exports and subdued investment growth in the first quarter, and moderate inflation at 2.4% in July, the EBRD said in its latest regional economic prospects report.
Downside risks persist due to potential domestic and regional tensions affecting trade and investor confidence, it added.
For the Western Balkans region, the EBRD expects economic growth to stand at 2% in 2023, lower than the 2.2% it projected in May, and to speed up to 3.3% in 2024, as much as projected earlier.
