December 7 (SeeNews) - The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) expects to complete soon its negotiations on concluding a preferential trade agreement with Serbia, Russian president Vladimir Putin has said.
"We look forward to the forthcoming conclusion of negotiations on preferential trade agreements with Singapore, Israel, Serbia and, in the future, with India and Egypt," Putin said during a meeting of the EAEU in Saint Petersburg on Thursday, according to a press release issued by the Kremlin.
In October, Kazakhstan's president Nursultan Nazarbayev said Serbia is in talks on the launch of a free trade zone with the EAEU. "We are interested in creating infrastructure for accelerated delivery of goods between Asia and Europe," Nazarbayev said.
The EAEU is a political and economic union of states located in central and northern Eurasia, namely Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. The Union represents an integrated single market of 183 million people.
