SOFIA (Bulgaria), July 18 (SeeNews) – Online commerce in Bulgaria has expanded by 14% in 2016, ahead of the average growth rate of 12% recorded in Europe in the same year, the country's deputy minister of transport, information technology and communications, Dimitar Genovski, said.
“The growth in the volume of shipments is expected to continue," Genovski was quoted as saying in a press release issued by the ministry on Monday following his meeting in Sofia with representatives of China’s State Post Bureau.
The dynamic growth of e-commerce in recent years is a significant factor for the postal sector, according to Genovski.
In 2016, the total number of consignments and services provided by postal operators in Bulgaria rose to 184 million, an increase of 5% compared to 2015, Genovski said.
