October 17 (SeeNews) - Dutch fruit processing company InnoFruit will start operating in Macedonia, following a brownfield investment worth some 10 million euro ($11 million), Macedonia's government said.
The company has taken over the assets of bankrupt wine maker and fruit processing company Agrolozar in southern Macedonia, the government said on Friday.
The investment will create 130 new jobs, some of them seasonal.
InnoFruits will initially cultivate a total area of 55 ha, to later on expand it to 250 ha. It will apply state-of-the art technologies in cherry and grape production, the government said.
