September 21 (SeeNews) - The construction of a 13 million euro ($14.5 million) bridge over the river Drina, at the border between Serbia and Bosnia’s Serb Republic, will be completed by November, Serbia's transport ministry has said.
The bridge, however, won't be in use until some time in 2017 when the border crossing linking the towns of Bratunac, on the Bosnian side, and the Serbian town of Ljubovija, is erected, the ministry quoted transport minister Zorana Mihajlovic as saying in a press release on Tuesday.
Serbia is responsible for the construction works on the 227 m long bridge, while Bosnia is put in charge of building the access roads and the common border crossing.
The Serb Republic is one of the two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Muslim-Croat Federation.
