BUCHAREST (Romania), November 27 (SeeNews) – Courier services provider DPD Romania said on Tuesday it has appointed Danail Danailov as its interim chief executive officer (CEO) for the next six to eight months.
The interim director general will support the team management in the recruitment of a local candidate for the post and will ensure proper guidance in taking over the function, DPD said in a statement.
Danailov takes over from Lucian Aldescu, who has been in office since 2009.
"I'm sure that this strategic change will bring the energy needed to quickly complete the planned activities to improve DPD Romania operations. Thus, by the middle of the next year, these actions will enable the company to meet the high standards of DPD Group and to become the preferred supplier of customers in Romania," Danailov said.
DPD Romania also appointed Mircea Cocosila as its new commercial director starting January 1.
Cocosila will replace Radu Dumitru Stanescu, who has been in office since September 2017.
In September, DPD Romania invested 1.2 million euro ($1.4 million) in a new solution for delivering and dispatching parcels.
The company said in March that it targets a 20% rise in turnover to 32.2 million euro in 2018.
DPD has over 1,200 employees and suppliers in Romania as well as 16,000 pick-up offices.
