June 2 (SeeNews) - Turnover on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange fell on Friday as diversified conglomerate Doverie United Holding [BUL:5DOV] generated more than half of the total, bourse data indicated.
BSE's total trading turnover fell to 5 million levs ($2.88 milion/2.55 million euro) on Friday from 8.6 million levs on Thursday. Trade in Doverie United Holding shares generated 3.1 million levs, or 62% of the daily turnover. The shares changed hands in a single block deal at a price of 2.04 levs each. On Thursday the company generated 1.1 million levs of turnover.
In its interim financial report for the first quarter, filed with the Sofia bourse on Tuesday, drug maker Sopharma [BUL:3JR] said it had received a decision from the Commission for Protection of Competition stating that the acquisition of shares of the capital of Doverie United Holding is not subject to preliminary notification.
The blue-chip SOFIX index rose by 0.96% to 670.48 points, after increasing by 0.43% on Thursday.
The broader BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the BSE, increased by 0.83% to 132.09 points, following an increase of 0.30% on Thursday.
The BG-REIT index, which tracks the performance of real estate investment trusts, lost 0.17% to 110.42 points on Friday. On Thursday, the index decreased by 0.46%.
The BG TotalReturn30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, rose by 0.25% to 519.25 points, after closing 0.24% higher on Thursday.
Drug maker Sopharma [BUL:3JR] was the top blue-chip gainer on Friday, rising by 4.28% to 4.260 levs as 179,435 shares changed hands.
Eurohold Bulgaria [BUL:4EH] led the list of blue-chip decliners on Friday, falling by 7.11% to 0.901 levs in a trading volume of 345,456 units. Eurohold Bulgaria was aslo the most traded blue-chip on Friday.
