June 23 (SeeNews) - Turkish conglomerate Dogus Group has signed a deal with property developer Stratex to take over the management of the Montenegrin-based Dukley Marina, Burak Baykan, regional director at Dogus Group, said on Tuesday.
The move marks the entry of D-Marin Marinas Group, a Dogus Group company, on the Montenegrin market after entering the markets of Croatia and Greece, Baykan said in an emailed response to a SeeNews inquiry.
With 300 berths, the 62,000 sq m Dukley Marina can accommodate yachts of up to 70 m. It is part of the Dukley luxury waterfront residential community, located on the Zavala peninsula across the old town of Budva.
The Dukley development has a land area of over 35,000 sq m and a gross development value of 210 million euro ($235 million), Stratex data indicated.
At the moment, Dogus Group is considering whether to invest jointly with Stratex in the expansion of the marina in order to increase its capacity and quality of services, Baykan said. "Having in mind that the cooperation [with Stratex] until now was very successful, we believe that this project will also be a success."
D-Marin Marinas Group operates four marinas in Greece, three in Turkey and as many in Croatia, data from its website indicated.
Stratex has a portfolio of seaside and mountain resort projects in Montenegro.
