BANJA LUKA (Bosnia and Herzegovina), June 29 (SeeNews) – Serbia's Delta Holding said on Thursday its real estate division has broken ground for the construction of a shopping centre in Bosnia's Banja Luka, an investment worth 70 million euro ($79.8 million).
The Banja Luka store is expected to open in the autumn 2018 and create 2,500 new jobs, Delta Holding said on its Twitter profile during the ground breaking ceremony, which was attended by senior government officials.
The centre, with an area of 62,500 sq m, will be the biggest of its kind in Bosnia.
Banja Luka is based in one of Bosnia's autonomous entities, the Serb Republic. The other is the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Delta Holding is currently involved in the construction of InterContinental hotel in Ljubljana, in Slovenia. The company said earlier it planned to begin the construction a 200 million euro shopping center, Delta Planet shopping mall, in the Serbian capital Belgrade.
In March, Zagreb-based media reported that Delta was negotiating the launch of an InterContinental hotel in Croatia's capital.
