September 10 (SeeNews) - Czech steelworks ArcelorMittal Ostrava has placed a buyout bid for Slovenian metal group Alpos, the Slovenian firm said on Monday.
Alpos management board has no agreement with ArcelorMittal Ostrava regarding the bid and the two companies are not in talks on any agreement, the Slovenian company said in a statement. Further details were not immediately available.

ArcelorMittal Ostrava, former Mittal Steel Ostrava, was the biggest shareholder in Alpos at the end of 2006 wiith a 38% stake.
Alpos shares fell by 0.1% to an average of 50.60 euro ($69.8) on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange on Monday.
