July 16 (SeeNews) - The health ministry of Cyprus has placed Albania in the category of high-risk countries whose citizens are not allowed to enter the country during the coronavirus pandemic, Albanian media reported on Thursday.
The Cyprus authorities were prompted to take the decision after an Albanian citizen arriving from Athens earlier this week tested positive for COVID-19, Albanian Daily News reported.
Earlier this month, the Hungarian government banned Albanians, alongside nationals of five other countries in Southeast Europe, from entering the country.
Albania has confirmed a total of 3,851 COVID-19 cases, including 104 deaths as of Thursday.
