July 1 (SeeNews) - The area sown with soft wheat (winter, spring seed and durum) in Croatia this year increased by 16,000 hectares compared to 2021 to 160,000 hectares, the statistical office said on Friday.
The area put to maize increased by 0.7% year-on-year to 290,000 hectares in 2022, the statistical office said in a report quoting first estimates of areas sown with cereals and oilseeds by June 1.
The acreage sown with soya beans increased by 1.2% year-on-year to 87,000 hectares.
The area sown with rapeseed decreased by 20% to 24,000 hectares compared to the previous year, while the area sown with sunflower seed totalled 41,000 hectares, unchanged compared to 2021.
