November 19 (SeeNews) - Croatian sugar producer Viro's [ZSE:VIRO] consolidated net loss expanded to 18.7 million kuna ($2.8 million/2.5 million euro) in the first nine months of 2018, from 12.8 million kuna a year earlier, it said.
The company's consolidated total revenue dropped 33.3% on the year to 521.1 million kuna, while total expenses fell 28.2% to 564.3 million kuna, Viro said in an interim financial statement.
Cristal Union, a major European producer of sugar, alcohol and bioethanol, acquired a 17% stake in Viro in 2016. The Viro Group owns two sugar refineries producing approximately 200,000 tonnes of sugar per year.
