September 12 (SeeNews) - Croatia's notheastern Valpovo-Belisce region is launching a 270 million kuna ($40.2 million/36.5 million euro) wastewater and water supply project co-financed by European Union funding, the Valpovo city council said.
The city's utility company Dvorac, as the project manager, signed a contract with a consortium of local firms Osijek Koteks, Vodovod Montaza and Odvodnja Darda for the implementation of the works, the Valpovo city coincil said in a statement on Wednesday.
The project includes the revamp of the complete water supply and wastewater networks in the cities of Valpovo and Belisce, as well as the completion of the wastewater network in the municipalities of Petrijevci, Bizovac, Koska and Marijanci. It also includes the construction of a wastewater treatment plants in Belisce and Petrijevci, and the construction of a drinking water supply facility in Belisce.
