March 13 (SeeNews) - Croatian hotel operator Valamar Riviera [ZSE:RIVP] said on Friday it has temporarily closed four of its hotels in compliance with the government's recommendations to limit the use of public space due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Valamar has closed its Diamant hotel in Porec, Sanifor hotel in Rabac as well as Lacroma and Argosy hotels in Dubrovnik, sending all employees who work in them on a leave until the end of March, the company said in an e-mailed statement.
In taking this decision Valamar Riviera also took into account the advice of the national crisis centre to exercise increased caution at the country's borders regarding arrivals of citizens of Germany, Austria, and other countries, according to the statement.
By Thursday evening, Croatia has confirmed 27 cases of coronavirus.
Valamar Riviera operates 37 hotels and resorts and 15 camping resorts in several attractive destinations along the Adriatic coast – from Istria and the islands of Krk and Rab to Dubrovnik.
