June 9 (SeeNews) - Croatia's trade deficit declined to 5.312 billion euro ($5.723 billion) in the first four months of this year, compared with a gap of some 5.731 billion euro in the same period of 2022, the country's statistical office said on Friday.
Exports rose 9.4% on the year to 7.623 billion euro, while imports grew 1.8% to 12.936 billion euro, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics said in a statement, quoting preliminary data.
Croatia's exports to the European Union (EU) increased by 7.4% year-on-year in the review period, reaching 5.237 billion euro, whereas the country's imports from the EU rose by 5.7% to 9.982 billion euro.
Croatia's trade deficit rose by 76% to 17.6 billion euro in 2022.
