February 8 (SeeNews) - Croatia's trade deficit increased to 17.6 billion euro ($ 18.9 billion) last year, compared with a gap of 10 billion euro in 2021, the country's statistical office said on Wednesday.
Exports rose 30.3% on the year to 23.9 billion euro last year, while imports grew 46.4% to 41.6 billion euro, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics said in a statement, quoting preliminary data.
Croatia's exports to the European Union (EU) increased by 31.6% year-on-year in the review period, reaching 16.4 billion euro, whereas the country's imports from the EU rose by 34% to 29.3 billion euro.
Croatia's trade deficit rose by 13% to 9.2 billion euro in 2021, according to figures published earlier by the statistical office.
