ZAGREB (Croatia), September 20 (SeeNews) - Croatian motorways operator Hrvatske Autoceste (HAC) saw its toll tax revenue rise 3.1% to 1.22 billion kuna ($182 million/165 million euro) without VAT in the 2019 summer season, the tourism ministry reported.

A total of 22.365 million vehicles used the motorways managed by HAC and its subsidiary Autocesta Rijeka-Zagreb (ARZ), up by 3.8% compared to last summer's vehicle traffic, the tourism ministry said in a statement earlier this week, citing HAC data.

In the summer season, (June 15 -September 15) HAC and ARZ were charging 10% higher toll fees compared to the rest of the year, the statement noted.

According to HAC figures, vehicle traffic on all motorways since the start of 2019 until September 15 rose by 4.85% on the year, while toll tax revenue  increased by 4.64%.
