July 9 (SeeNews) - Croatia's telecoms regulator, HAKOM, said on Thursday it permitted Vipnet, a unit of Telekom Austria Group, to take over its local peer Amis.
HAKOM said in a statement that the concentration will not have significant effects on the increase of Vipnet's market share in a way that would distort competition.

Considering that Amis's total revenues in 2014 do not exceed 100 million kuna ($14.6 million/13.2 million euro), this acquisition does not require Vipnet to notify the local competition authorities and is instead in the scope of HAKOM's duties, HAKOM also said.
On the mobile segment in Croatia, a market of 4.3 million, Vipnet competes with the local unit of Swedish telecoms group Tele2 and the wireless arm of incumbent telco Hrvatski Telekom.
