February 24 (SeeNews) - Croatia's coastal city of Sibenik has received European Union financing towards the implementation of a 99 million kuna ($14.4 million/13.3 million euro) project for the development of its transport network, the transport ministry said.
Out of the total project value, 73.8 million kuna will come from EU grants, the ministry said in a statement on Friday.
The project includes the preparation of design study documentation for the organisation and integration of Sibenik's public transport, as well as the development of an application that will provide complete sector information to its users and enhance the use of separate services provided by the city's transport sector, the statement reads.
The application will integrate the different types of public transport and provide information about them, enabling the payment of public transport tickets and public parking fees.
The project also includes the procurement of 11 low-floor buses to strengthen the performance of the 7 city bus lines, as well as the supply of info-display equipment for 17 bus stops, the ministry said.
