June 1 (SeeNews) - Croatian electric vehicle developer and manufacturer Rimac Automobili on Tuesday presented its hypercar model named Nevera, the production version of the C Two concept car unveiled in 2018.
The new all-electric 1914hp car can reach a speed of 258 mph and will sell at 2 million euro ($2.4 million), Rimac said in a press release.
"When we first revealed the C_Two, we set our targets extremely high. There was nothing else that could even come close to matching the car’s cutting-edge electric powertrain and extreme performance. But for us, that was only the starting point," Mate Rimac, founder and CEO of Rimac Automobili, said in the press release.
The carmaker will produce 150 units of the new car and Mate Rimac himself will test and sign off each of them before they are delivered. The majority of the key components of the Nevera are developed at Rimac's headquarters in Croatia.
The Nevera will be exclusively available through Rimac's dealer partners network across Europe, North America, Latin America, Europe, Middle East and Asia.
Rimac manufactures electric hypercars and provides technology solutions to automotive manufacturers. The company employs around 1,000 people.
In April, the company announced a plan to build a 200 million euro campus, which will be capable of accommodating over 2,500 employees, in order to support its long-term growth plans.
German sports car manufacturer Porsche, part of Volkswagen Group, is in discussions with Rimac to form a joint venture that will manage the luxury car brand Bugatti, Volkswagen Group management board chairman Herbert Diess said in March. Earlier the same month, Porsche increased its stake in Rimac to 24% from 15.5% after investing an additional 70 million euro.
