May 28 (SeeNews) - Croatia's Rijeka port authority said that it has competed construction works on the Zagreb deep sea container terminal (DSCT).
Investment in the new terminal amounts to 112.5 million euro ($126 million), with 84 million euro financed through a World Bank loan and 28.5 million euro provided by the Croatian state budget, Rijeka Port said in a statement last week.
The Zagreb DSCT was implemented within the Rijeka Gateway project, which aims to improve Rijeka port's transport and infrastructure network.
The terminal, 400 metres in length, is expected to be expanded to 680 metres later. It is 20 meters deep, which will allow the port to receive the latest generation of container ships.
