July 9 (SeeNews) - Croatian food, beverages and pharmaceuticals producer Podravka [ZSE:PODR-R-A] said it is starting purchasing domestic wheat from this year's harvest.
Podravka plans to buy 63,000 tonnes of wheat this year for the needs of its flour mills in Croatia's Koprivica and Slovenia's Maribor, the company said in a statement over the weekend.
It is offering prices ranging from 1.25 kuna ($0.19/0.17 euro) per kiolgramme of premium class wheat to 0.9 kuna per kilo for the lowest IV class. Last year, Podravka purchased 26,000 tonnes of wheat in Croatia.
Podravka said it is working on enhancing its cooperation with local producers in line with plans to increase domestic wheat purchases and by 2022 introduce 100% of domestic raw material into its end products.
