ZAGREB (Croatia), August 30 (SeeNews) – Croatian retailer Mercator-H said on Tuesday it has opened a 33,000 square metre logistics and distribution centre near Zagreb.
The cost of equipping the logistics hub, which will offer 40,000 pallet spaces, added up to 3.3 million euro ($4.76 million), Mercator-H said in a press release.
The launch of the logistics centre, located in Sveta Nedelja, near Zagreb, brings to 16.6 million euro the company's year-to-date investment tally.
Going forward, Mercator-H is consolidating its logistics operations in two instead of five locations.
The logistics hub in Sveta Nedelja will replace existing facilities in Karlovac and Velika Gorica, the company's warehousing site in Sesveta will be repurposed while the existing warehouse in Pozega and that planned for Dalmatia will operate as cross-dock facilities, the retailer said.
Mercator-H (www.mercator.hr) is a unit of Slovenia’s Mercator Group.
