March 19 (SeeNews) - The share indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) fell on Thursday, as hotel operator Maistra [ZSE:MAIS] led the blue-chip losers, ZSE data showed.
Maistra's shares fell by 8.59% to 181 kuna on Thursday.
Arena Hospitality Group [ZSE:ARNT] paced the blue-chip gainers on Thursday, as its share price rose 7.94% to 204 kuna.
Arena also recorded the highest trading turnover among the blue chips on Thursday, for a second straight trading day - of 10.9 million kuna, including a block transaction of 8.9 million kuna.
The ZSE said last week that Arena Hospitality Group will be excluded from the blue-chip index CROBEX10 as of March 23.
Thursday's total trading turnover was also boosted by a block transaction in the shares of hotel operator Valamar Riviera [ZSE:RIVP], in the amount of 2 million kuna. Its shares closed 6.86% lower at 19 kuna, in a daily turnover of 8.1 million kuna.
ZSE's total trading turnover edged up to 37.7 million kuna ($5.3 million/5.0 million euro) on Thursday, from 36 million kuna on Wednesday.
The ZSE's 25-share benchmark CROBEX index fell by 1.04% to 1,373.50 after dropping 3.18% on Wednesday.
The narrower of the ZSE's two blue-chip indices, the CROBEX10, which tracks the leading companies in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, dropped 0.58% to 843.46 after decreasing 2.46% on Wednesday.
The fixed-income CROBIS index lost 0.06% to 111.6450.
