January 9 (SeeNews) - The main equity indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) advanced more than 1.40% each on Monday, thanks to gains in most of the blue chips, bourse data showed.
The 18-share CROBEX added 1.49% to end at 2,036.77 points. The narrower CROBEX10, which tracks the top ten issuers in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, went up 1.86% to close at 1,190.83 points.
Shares of hotel owner and operator Valamar Riviera [ZSE:RIVP] soared 3.50% to end at 4.14 euro in the day's largest turnover, 110,300 euro ($119,000). Preferred shares of diversified holding company Adris [ZSE:ADRS2] were the second most traded stock with a turnover of 89,400 euro, as they surged 4.40% to close at 52.20 euro.
In lower turnovers, shares of car parts maker AD Plastik [ZSE:ADPL] went up 7.55%, food and pharma producer Podravka [ZSE:PODR] rose 2.07%, consumer goods distributor Atlantic Grupa [ZSE:ATGR] increased 3.11%, and shipping company Atlantska Plovidba gained 2.90%, while ICT equipment producer Ericsson Nikola Tesla [ZSE:ERNT] fell 1.71%. Shipping company Alpha Adriatic [ZSE:ULPL] was the biggest daily gainer as its share price grew 10.29% increase and 497 of its shares changed hands.
The bourse's total trading turnover rose to 848,000 euro from just 338,128 euro on Thursday. On Friday, the bourse was closed due to Epiphany, a public and market holiday.
