October 30 (SeeNews) - Croatian port operator Luka Rijeka [ZSE:LKRI-R-A] said on Monday it turned to a consolidated net profit of 13.6 million kuna ($2.1 million/1.8 million euro) in the first nine months of 2017 from a net loss of 2.3 million kuna in the like period of last year.
Total consolidated income increased 19.5% year-on-year to 148.1 million kuna in the nine months through September, while total costs rose 6.5% to 134.4 million kuna, Luka Rijeka said in a consolidated financial statement filed with the Zagreb bourse on Friday.
Luka Rijeka's nine-month EBITDA turned to a positive 8.2 million kuna from a negative 566,000 kuna last year. The EBITDA margin was a positive 6.45% versus a negative 0.50% last year.
Total cargo traffic handled by port operator Luka Rijeka and its associate company Adriatic Gate Container climbed 26% to 3.5 million tonnes in January-September. Luka Rijeka's cargo traffic alone jumped 27% to 1.9 million tonnes.
Rijeka, situated in the northern part of the Kvarner Bay, is the largest seaport in Croatia.
