October 4 (SeeNews) - Labour demand in Croatia in September was 13.7% higher on the year and up 26.6% compared to pre-pandemic September 2019, a local think-tank said.
In line with labour market development in the past year and a half, the OVI index shows that labour demand in September this year has remained strong, the Institute of Economics Zagreb (EIZ) said in a monthly report on labour demand measured by its EIZ Online Vacancy Index (OVI) on Monday.
A similar conclusion can be drawn from quarterly data: in the third quarter of 2022, labour demand increased by 9.9% and 31.2% respectively compared to the same quarter of 2021 and 2019, it added.
The most sought after occupations in September this year were salesperson, waiter, teacher, warehouse worker and accountant. Some 48.5% of job advertisements offered fixed-term employment, while 42% offered permanent employment.
Advertisements mentioning the option of work from home are on the rise, accounting for 2.5% of total advertisements in September 2022, compared to 1.7% in September last year.
