October 6 (SeeNews) - Labour demand in Croatia was 55% higher in September 2021, compared to the same month of 2020, and some 11% higher compared to pre-pandemic September 2019, a local think-tank said on Wednesday.
September was the fifth straight month in which labour demand has exceeded pre-pandemic level, the Institute of Economics Zagreb (EIZ) said in a monthly report on Croatia's labour demand measured by its Online Vacancy Index (OVI).
These favourable developments are also visible on quarterly basis, EIZ added. In the third quarter of this year, labour demand was 57% higher compared to the third quarter of 2020 and some 19% higher compared to the third quarter of 2019.
In the first nine months of this year, labour demand measured by the OVI index was around 1% higher compared to the same period of 2019.
OVI is a monthly index of online job advertisements developed by the EIZ in cooperation with web portal MojPosao.
