November 13 (SeeNews) - Croatian retailer Konzum, a member of ailing concern Agrokor, reported earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of 399.7 million kuna ($60.6 million/53.8 million euro) in the nine months through September, above the 274.3 million kuna plan, Agrokor said on Tuesday.
Konzum's EBITDA margin was 5.9% and revenues totalled 6.748 billion kuna, Agrokor said in an interim financial statement quoting preliminary figures.
Total revenue is slightly above plan due to a higher number of transactions and average value of consumer basket.
Overall, the companies in Agrokor's retail and wholesale segment, which also includes Konzum's Bosnian unit, newsstand operator Tisak [ZSE:TISK-R-A] and wholesaler Velpro, recorded EBITDA of 398.3 million kuna in the nine months through September, above the planned figure of 381.3 million kuna. The combined revenue of Konzum, Tisak and Velpro totalled 10.083 billion kuna.
