January 23 (SeeNews) - Unemployment in Croatia is seen falling by 2.6 percentage points (p.p.), the sharpest decrease among the countries in Southeast Europe (SEE), data from International Labor Organization (ILO) shows.
Croatia's unemployment stood at 10.8% in 2017, and by end-2019 it is seen falling to 8.2%, ILO said in its World Employment and Social Outlook 2018 report.
Serbia followed with the second sharpest decrease, of 1.9 p.p., to 12.2% at end-2019.
The jobless rate in seven of 10 countries in SEE is expected to decrease, while in three it is projected to rise.
Employment in the service sector is expected to increase by end-2019 in all SEE countries compared to end-2017, while in the industry it is expected to remain unchanged. The agriculture sector is seen needing less workers in most SEE countries except Bulgaria, Slovenia and Macedonia where employment is expected to stay at 2017 levels.
In 2017, the vulnerable employment rate which includes own-account workers and contributing family workers was highest in Albania with 57%, followed by Moldova with 29% and Serbia with 28%.
