March 10 (SeeNews) - Croatia's trade deficit stood at 5.7 billion kuna ($857.9 million/756.1 million euro) in January, as compared to 5.5 billion kuna in the same month last year, the country's statistical office said on Tuesday.
Exports edged up 0.4% on the year to 8.3 billion kuna in January, while imports added 1.3% to 14 billion kuna, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics said in a statement, citing preliminary data.
Croatia's exports to the EU rose to 6 billion kuna in the month under review, from 5.8 billion kuna a year earlier. The country's imports from the EU grew to 11.5 billion kuna, from 11.3 billion kuna.
