May 17 (SeeNews) - New passenger car registrations in Croatia rose by 38.8% on the year in the first four months of this year, to 19,284, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) said on Wednesday, quoting provisional figures.
Petrol remained the most popular fuel type for newly-registered cars in Croatia, with 9,688 sold cars, followed by hybrid electric passenger cars (4,245) and diesel ones (3,706) in the period under review, ACEA said in a statement.
From January to April 2023, the European Union car market grew by 17.8% to 3.5 million registered cars. “Despite the year-on-year improvement, sales were still down by 22.8% compared to the same period in 2019, highlighting the EU car market’s ongoing struggle,” according to ACEA.
New passenger car registrations in Croatia fell by 4.4% on the year in 2022, to 42,939, ACEA said earlier.
