June 13 (SeeNews) - Croatian hotel operator Jadran said on Tuesday its pre-tax profit jumped 82.9% year-on-year to 4.8 million kuna ($726,300/647,700 euro) in 2016 after it exited bankruptcy in 2014.
The company's total revenue rose by 29.2% on the year to 84.1 million kuna in 2016, while sales revenue increased to 67.8 million kuna, up 11% , Jadran said in a statement.
Jadran's EBITDA surged 40.7% on the year to 13.8 milion kuna.
Crikvenica-based Jadran operates eight hotels, two car camps and one holiday village.
In 2016, the company completed a 40 million kuna investment cycle, which resulted in an upgrade of Katarina and Omorika hotels to four-star category and expansion of its mobile home offer in the Selce resort.
Currently, Jadran is working on an upgrade of its Crikvenica-based Esplanade hotel.
Tourism is a key industry for Croatia, contributing around a fifth of the country's gross domestic product.
