May 16 (SeeNews) - Croatia's consumer prices increased by 8.9% year-on-year in April, and were 1.0% higher month-on-month, the statistical office said on Tuesday, slightly raising its first estimates.
The statistical office estimated April's inflation at 8.8% year-on-year and at 0.9% month-on-month at the beginning of this month.
On an annual level, the prices of food and soft drinks rose 15.7% on the year in April, and prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels went up 8.6%, the Bureau of Statistics said.
Croatia, which joined the euro area on January 1, saw annual inflation of 10.7% in March. On a monthly level, consumer prices added 0.9% in March.
Measured by the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), in April compared to April 2022, the prices of goods and services for personal consumption increased by 8.9% on average, while compared to March they increased by 1.2%.
