May 26 (SeeNews) - Croatia's biggest telecommunications operator, Hrvatski Telekom [ZSE:HT-R-A], has said it plans to launch voice service over HT Long-Term Evolution network (VoLTE) by the end of the month and thus become the first one to offer the service in the country.
Activation and voice services over superfast LTE network will be without additional charges, whilst the main prerequisite will be the adequate tariff plan, a VoLTE-enabled device and the corresponding software version, Hrvatski Telekom said in a statement earlier this week.
LTE technology on which 4G network has been founded will provide the Croatian users for the first time with the opportunity to make voice calls at extremely high-speed data transmission rates that had previously been made exclusively over 3G and 2G networks, Hrvatski Telekom said.
At the end of 2016, outdoor 4G network coverage of Hrvatski Telekom stood at 96.9%, the telecommunications operator said.
