August 20 (SeeNews) - Croatia's biggest telecommunications operator, Hrvatski Telekom [ZSE:HT-R-A], held
294,703 of its own shares as of Monday, representing 0.360846% of the company's issued share capital, it said.
On August 16, Hrvatski Telekom (HT) acquired 15,453 own shares at 158.0 kuna ($24.3/21.3 euro) apiece, while a day later it purchased 2,289 shares at 157.9589 kuna per share, the company said in a filing with the Zagreb Stock Exchange.
Prior to launching its share buyback programme on July 3, 2017, HT owned 2,966 treasury shares. On March 28, HT withdrew 218,471 acquired shares without nominal value, without decreasing its share capital which totals 9.8 billion kuna.
Following the withdrawal, the total number of HT shares decreased to 81,670,064 from 81,888,535.
The telco aims to purchase up to 2,500,000 of its own shares by April 20, 2021 under the share buyback programme. It will spend up to 500 million kuna to finance the share buyback.
HT serves 875,000 fixed lines, 2.24 million mobile subscribers, and 624,000 broadband connections.
