April 5 (SeeNews) - Croatia's biggest telecommunications operator, Hrvatski Telekom [ZSE:HT-R-A], said on Thursday it now holds 106,589 of its own shares, representing 0.130512% of the company's issued share capital.
On April 3, HT acquired 607 own shares at 162.4802 kuna ($26.9/21.9 euro) apiece, while a day later it bought 1,445 shares at 162.3460 kuna each, the company said in a filing to the Zagreb Stock Exchange.
Prior to launching its share buyback programme on July 3, 2017 Hrvatski Telekom (HT) owned 2,966 treasury shares. On March 28, HT withdrew 218,471 acquired company shares without nominal value, without decreasing its share capital which totals 9.8 billion kuna.
Following the withdrawal, the total number of HT shares has decreased from 81,888,535 to 81,670,064.
The telco aims to purchase up to 2,500,000 of its own shares by April 20, 2021 under the share buyback programme. Hrvatski Telekom will spend up to 500 million kuna to finance the share buyback.
Hrvatski Telekom serves 875,000 fixed lines, 2.24 million mobile subscribers, and 624,000 broadband connections.
