August 9 (SeeNews) - Croatia's trade deficit rose to 38.5 billion kuna ($5.8 billion/5.2 billion euro) in the first half of 2019, from 35.2 billion kuna in the prior-year period, the country's statistical office said on Friday.
Exports increased 5.1% on the year in the six months through June, reaching 54.4 billion kuna, while imports rose 6.8% to 92.9 billion kuna, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics said in a statement, citing preliminary data.
Croatia's exports to the EU rose to 36.8 billion kuna in the review period, from 35.5 billion kuna a year earlier. The country's imports from the EU grew to 75.6 billion kuna, from 68.7 billion kuna.
